Pediatric Dystopia

This page and my webpage

Four and a half million American children are severely obese and the AAP, American Association of Pediatrics want more of them to get weight loss surgery. Surgery! That’s the solution?

The reasons given for this opinion:

  • Several years of sustained weight loss
  • Few complications, safety
  • Higher failure rate of non-surgical interventions like lifestyle changes
  • Ease of surgery

Hmm, what about long term health risks of surgery? What are the risks from continuing poor diet or lifestyle choices? I shouldn’t blame them. If their training never included any good diet and nutrition information, what else would they conclude and recommend? But ignorance is not a quality to attribute to a professional pediatric group.

Oh well. I have said it before and I will say it again. You need to make the right food choices for you and your family. It is critically important to not fuck up your health. And more importantly it is not good to fuck up the health of young people who should be at the peak of health and fitness.

I have said it before and I will say it again. They don’t make any money if you are well and healthy. They make money prescribing, testing, and treating you after you are sick. There is no incentive for prevention. No incentive for health. Only sickness makes them money. It is the most perverse and sickening things that exists today. Well meaning medical professionals following the book to apply nothing more than bandages to severe life threatening illnesses. Never asking why or critically evaluating the root cause of the problems. We all avoid the hard solutions.

Drug ‘em up or cut ‘em up. Easy peasy, lets go golfing!
