The wind blows. The grass grows.
The largest utility company in California must turn off the electricity like a third world country. Why? Because it’s too windy. At least that’s what they say.
A company that makes hundreds of millions of dollars can’t trim the trees. Profits didn’t and don’t go to maintain the infrastructure because profits are more important. Devastating ‘accidents’ like the gas line explosion in San Bruno in 2010. The Camp Fire killed 85 people and burned hundreds of thousands of acres in 1918.
Safety is a PG&E mantra in televised ads that cost lots of money. But they should trim the trees instead of lecturing us about disaster safety. Maintaining infrastructure cuts into profits. But putting profits above maintenance is deadly. To you and me.
Just trim the trees and replace the aging pipes like you are supposed to do. And stop trying to make more and more money for investors and executives. Stop the corruption.
