Police Tools

  • Rubber bullets
  • Tear gas
  • Baton strikes
  • Taser hits

These are being used to improperly to move people and protesters. Police response started off as underwhelming or non existent. Then, suddenly and without warning their actions were overly aggressive and combative. Protesters are an uncontrolled force with bad outcomes. But a police force is not supposed to be uncontrolled. The goal of police is peace not war on the public.

Home Grown

Asian wet markets are to blame for viruses that have swept around the world. But we have our own virus factories and will someday produce a super virus. What is a virus factory?

Just look at our modern corporate meat production in the US. It is brutally efficient. Pack thousands of genetically identical animals in enclosed spaces. Pump in food, water, growth hormones and antibiotics. Stress the animals out with bad air quality, no space, no sunlight and filth.

These modern disease breeding grounds are all over the country. And meat processing plants are virus hot spots too. They also prioritize efficiency and economy. Cleanliness and sanitary conditions are hard to maintain in our quest for speed.

Factory meat production is a wonder to behold. But horribly dangerous.

Important Stuff

The world we live in and the world we create around ourselves is:

  • Chaotic
  • Cluttered
  • Complex
  • Distracting
  • Noisy

Modern media like news, online social media and television have tapped into and are tuned to capture our attention. Catch it and hold it with flashing lights, images, symbols and sounds. Tuning media for maximum benefit is now a science.

To combat this onslaught, one has to:

  • Tune out
  • Turn off
  • Remember what is important

Time is a limited and non renewable resource. If we are careful, thoughtful and jealously guard our time. If we can ignore the chaff and chatter. Constantly ask ourselves and ask the world “What is important here?” we reduce the chances that we waste time.

Time spent can never be recovered.

Curfew Ignored

Protesters are ignoring curfews everywhere. Protests continue day after day.

No signs of police reform, police oversight, training, or changes of any kind have been offered. Only promises of escalating force and law and order enforcement.

I guess the violence will continue. Police shooting led to looting. Protests may subside over time. But the anger will only return the next time another incident of police brutality.

Health and Healing

In the US, medical professionals are taught that health and healing are dispensed from pills, potions and technology. There is no doubt that modern medicine is a wonderful thing to behold and is heroic in every sense.

So why is the death rate so high? Underlying and existing health conditions like obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease make Covid 19 much more deadly. Or they make it harder for the body to fight off the infection. Or it causes the immune response to virus much more harmful and dangerous. Or it causes dangerous chemical interactions with so many medications simultaneously administered.

The best medicine is the kind that doesn’t interfere with the bodies own natural healing systems.

But our medical system is biased to action. That means when confronted with a symptom, we pull out the book and apply a test, a medicine or machine assistance. Or all three.

We may look back on this with horror as we often do. Medical wisdom is so very often been thrown in the bin of history because over time evidence proves it wrong. And wrong means deadly.

Taking a pill for a condition seems normal. But if the root cause of condition is not addressed, then the remedy is forever? How is that ok? Good for big pharma and big medicine I guess.

Mask Up

To wear a mask or not to wear a mask? That is the question. There is a time and place for it. Now there are many more reasons to wear a mask.

Whenever you are in enclosed spaces in proximity to other people.

Or traversing enclosed spaces frequented by other people, we should be wearing masks.

We wear seat belts. We don’t smoke. We don’t drink and drive. We do many behaviors quite naturally because they are habits. They don’t take effort and they feel comfortable. With practice and repetition mask wearing will become effortless and habitual.
